Sanya

For memorial day weekend we headed to the most Southern point of China.
Sanya, Hainan
They call it the Hawaii of China

And I had my own Magnum PI to prove it.

Luckily the mustache didn't last too long.
Thank you!!

Snails are all over Guangzhou but the boys still had fun gathering them in Sanya.

Our deserted beach

Isaac happy to play in the sand.

Oliver is learning to squat just like the Chinese.

busy in the sand

Oliver only ate sand the first day.

100% boy

One of the favorite activities of the trip

Oliver's favorite toys in Sanya

Hammocks were all over the resort,

as well as outdoor games like Quoits

and soccer.

There were also swimming pools in every direction,

Including a water slide for the boys and

a baby pool for Oliver.

It was a relaxing trip and we didn't even leave the resort.

Concert

Daniel spring concert was fun to attend
We enjoyed hearing all their new songs ,

and seeing their new tie-dyed shirts.

Daniel's artwork

and more artwork.

He received the award for best idea-giver.

Isaac joined in the fun.

and Oliver enjoyed the fun toys.

Beard?

One day Oliver was playing with Marc's razor which lead to it missing which resulted in this.
Did you get all that?

Oliver was not the only one with this reaction.

One of our rainy season activities

Basketball Game

Also in May, Marc was able to play on the Basketball team representing the US consulate
They played a local team in the heat and humidity of Southern China

Nothing but net

In China, everyone gives the boys candy - Even when Oliver was a baby they would.
So this was the result of the free lollipops - a sticky, dirty, happy toddler.

More free candy

The team photo and yes, the Americans won.

Youth Conference

In May I spent 4 days in Shenzhen with the Young Women in our church congregation.
I took Oliver and he was everyone's favorite.
Youth from Beijing, Xi'an, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Qingdao and Shenzhen all joined in the fun.
I'm amazed at these young people who thrive in a country so different from their own
.

Mother's Day

Mother's day was great.
Marc made me Breakfast in Bed and my favorite dinner - Salmon.
Daniel made me a beautiful bowl ,

and they both made me cards.
Thank you!!

Earth Day

It's Earth Day - Time to celebrate!

We had a bicycle parade around our Island

After a few falls but no injuries we made is all around the island

We stopped to draw some chalk pictures about our favorite "earth" things.

Now it's Isaac's turn.

It was a fun day even though most people didn't know what we were doing.

Tie Dye.

Play clay

Coming home was nice - we were gone for 16 days
We celebrated with play clay.

Daniel is quite serious with his creations while Oliver just eats them.
