Three hour tour . . .

Our Bike tour
It all started by haggling a price, tying children seats onto our bikes (yes, tying)
and our tour guide changing out of her high heels and putting on her jacket
(yes, a jacket in this heat).
We started the tour with Oliver in the Bjorn (aka inflictor of back pain)
and Isaac behind Marc. I can't believe I did this with no bike helmets. Please don't tell any of my past patients. It's a slippery slope, first no car seats then this bike tour.

After Isaac got his foot stuck in the bike spokes we switched up the seats.
Now Oliver was on Marc's back with Daniel behind him and Isaac joined me on my bike.

The scenery was amazing - a must see for anyone visiting China.

After Marc fell off his bike into a rice field, taking Oliver and Daniel with him,
we thought maybe this wasn't the brightest of ideas. But it was too late to turn back.
We then boarded a bamboo raft with no children's life jackets.
(Notice Marc's muddy leg from the fall)
Marc with my sunburned infant, Oliver.
Folks, I think I'm going to win mother of the year

Soon the boys ditched the oversized life jackets and played around on the flimsy raft.
Luckily the stream wasn't deep.
Considering our luck so far, it was a surprise no one fell in.

Daniel loved this water gun.
Except he doesn't call is a gun (gun is a word he hasn't learned yet).

Now Oliver was with me.
Sorry Marc, but you won't see me falling into a rice field.

Our next stop was a Banyan tree over 1,000 years old.

At the tree, Marc tried out this inflated ball with the boys.
Another completely safe thing to do with toddlers.

They inflate a ball with you inside of it. Then you float on the river, inside of the ball/balloon.
After that we deceded to skip the other 2 tour stops and head home. The tour had already lasted over 6 hours. On the way home all the boys fell asleep. I had to hold Daniel up with one arm and Marc had to put Isaac on his back with Oliver in the Bjorn.
What a trip.

The next morning we headed home to Guangzhou.
Before we left we had to fix another flat tire on our stroller,
and I got another foot massage that was practically torture.
This photo was taken at the airport. We were all exhausted from the "3 hour tour"

Michelle, you DO win mother of the year! What amazing experiences these kids are getting without all of the restrictions that we now put on our kids. Come on...we survived without all the saftey precautions, right? That tour looked beautiful and I loved the inflatable ball. Can we do that tour when we come to visit you?! :)
