Mekong

Our first day in Laos started with a trip up the Mekong

in our own private luxury boat.

We hired a captain

and a first mate -

they were very skilled sailors.

Many were curious

but others were too busy panning for gold.

We made a few stops along the way

to see some weaving,

local goods,

and praying.

We continued our journey

with helpful

and capable hands.
