Protest
You know you're in DC when you run into some random protest.
This protest represented about every cause you can think of - Anti -Iraq war, heath care reform, breast cancer research, and immigration reform - To name the ones we saw.

I was in DC last weekend and one of my friends went to this protest. She went protesting the war, but said it ended up as a "If you have an issue, come protest" type protest. How funny.
